The digital age—ushered in by the information technology and the Wide World
Web—has provided numerous opportunities to individuals, groups, and
organizations to freely and openly express their viewpoints via email, blogs, chat rooms, My Space, You Tube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other innovative,
interactive and spontaneous social media venues. Consequently, it has become
increasingly difficult for governments to control the flow of information within
and outside the geographical boundaries of nation states.
